For very young children two pairs of things are most important:
The first pair is Rhythm and Repetition. These are the primary tools for teaching children under seven. We think of rhythm as pattern. The repeated rituals and acts of daily life that connect us to ourselves and the larger world - periods of rest, free play, outdoor time, snacks.
The second pair is Imagination and Imitation. Healthy play springs from what children have seen and experienced, the impressions they take in from the world around them.
Our work as Magic Farm Play School is to be worthy of this imitation, to be the best role models we can be. The young child needs to experience the world as beautiful, true, and good, and to know that we care for our everyday surroundings, for nature and for each other.
Our setting is gentle and nourishing to the senses, natural and home-like, ideal for the healthy development of the child. Children interact with farm animals, visit organic gardens, take walks and have a lot of outdoor time. Consistent care-giver establishes lasting relationship with each child.
